It was a beautiful Texas spring weekend at Harry Myers Park in Rockwall, Texas, as the MPO division took on the 2026 North Texas Open Presented by Hooligan Discs. With tournament Saturday bringing highs around 78°F, passing clouds, and breezy 12-13 mph winds, the conditions were great for disc golf—and it was Emerson Keith who completely stole the show right out of the gate.
Round 1: Setting the Pace
In the first round, Emerson Keith came out firing. He navigated the challenging Harry Myers layout with absolute precision, carding a blistering 55 (-9). This phenomenal opening round gave him a commanding three-stroke lead over the rest of the field.
Trailing him was Hunter Stevens, who put together a very solid 58 (-6), followed closely by a tie for third between Landon Knight and Zane Letts, both shooting 59 (-5). The early separation proved to be the defining storyline of the weekend; in a two-round B-tier, a three-stroke advantage after 18 holes puts massive pressure on the chase card to play perfect golf on day two.
Round 2: Holding Off the Charge
Heading into the final round, the pressure was on Keith to maintain his lead. While the scoring pace slowed down slightly for the leaders compared to round one, Keith played smart, steady golf, shooting a 62 to finish the tournament at an impressive -11 overall.
The biggest move of the day came from Zane Letts. Starting four strokes back, Letts matched Keith's round two score of 62, which tied for the hot round of the day among the leaders. While it wasn't quite enough to catch Keith, Letts' strong finish vaulted him past Hunter Stevens to claim solo second place at -7 overall.
Stevens closed with a 64, securing a podium finish in third place at -6. Rounding out the top 5 were Kevin Bates (-3) and Kade Capps (-2), who both put together two consistently solid rounds of under-par golf.
Final Leaderboard (Top 5 MPO)
- Emerson Keith: 55 - 62 = 117 (-11)
- Zane Letts: 59 - 62 = 121 (-7)
- Hunter Stevens: 58 - 64 = 122 (-6)
- Kevin Bates: 61 - 64 = 125 (-3)
- Kade Capps: 61 - 65 = 126 (-2)
Congratulations to Emerson Keith on a dominant, wire-to-wire victory at the 2026 North Texas Open!
